The Art of the Letter

In this workshop we’ll read examples of the epistle – poems written as letters to others – and then write our own letter poems or letter prose poems. The epistle allows a writer to engage in something that feels like a private exchange. The result can be delightful for both writer and reader. Epistolary poems feel intimate. When we read them we feel like we’re eavesdropping. Pre-registration for this class is required.

Note: Participants might consider using the poem they begin in this workshop as content for the artist’s book we’ll make in a later workshop.
